Item: Table Spoon Description: Hanoverian Pattern Hallmark: Birmingham 1775 by Edward Sawyer Dimensions: 210 mm long, 43g weight Comments: A very early Birmingham marked table spoon. The Birmingham assay office opened in 1773, therefore this date letter "C" spoon is from the third year of marking. Early Birmingham spoons are rare and those generally encountered are Old English Pattern, so this Hanoverian example is even more unusual. The date letter and maker's marks are very clear.
