Item: Seal Top Spoon Description: Gilt seal and large fig-shaped bowl. Hallmark: Southampton circa 1672 by Peter Webb (possibly). Dimensions: 187mm long, 55 grams weight Comments: A superb provincial Seal Top struck 4 times with cinquefoil rose (once in bowl and thrice on stem). Tentatively ascribed to Peter Webb of Southampton (Jacksons page 277). Contemporary engraved wedding inscription to flat seal end "MH" over "IH" over "1672". Good balance and patina. Price: SOLD Ref.
