Item: Trefid spoon Description: Lace-back with mask to front.
Hallmark: London 1683 by Edward Hulse Dimensions: 187mm long, 33g weight
Comments: An unusual lace-back with a human
mask amongst the scrolls to the front terminal. The spoon is in generally
good condition. Slightly mis-shapen bowl. Laceback decoration is good. Excellent contemporary dot-pricked initials to reverse terminal.
Light weight. Hallmarks in excellent condition. Maker is firmly attributed by
Kent in "London Silver Spoonmakers 1500-1697" in the addendum of
later editions.
