Antique Silver Spoons

Item:  Puritan spoon Hallmark: London c.1665-70 by Caleb Westbrooke Dimensions: 191mm long, 52g weight

Comments: A good and inexpensive Puritan spoon in the usual form - plank like stem, oval bowl and "V"-shaped join to bowl. Hallmarked in the usual manner; Leopard's Head Crowned in bowl (good), Maker (deeply stamped -clear "W", but less clear "C") & Lion Passant (good) on stem near bowl, and date letter (part mis-struck) towards the stem end. The date letter could be identified with time and patience. The bowl is pretty good, although slightly sharp on the right-hand side.
