Item: Trefid Spoon Description: Decorated Rattail Hallmark: Honiton c.1700 by Richard Sweet III Dimensions: 203mm long, 60 g weight Comments: A very fine trefid spoon by one of the premier West Country Spoon-makers. See "West Country Silver Spoons and Their Makers" by Tim Kent, pages 135-6. This spoon is in absolutely excellent condition with a full sized bowl with thick lip, original patina, a pristine rattail and four superb "RS" marks. There is also the addition of a French Control mark. The spoon is of very good gauge and has the added bonus of a contemporary dated betrothal inscription to the reverse terminal. Price: SOLD Ref.
