Item: Meat Skewer Description: Cast shell terminal Hallmark: London circa 1760 by John Parker & Edward Wakelin Dimensions: 348 mm long, 142grams (4.5 tr oz!) Comments: A very long and extremely heavy skewer by important makers. Intriguingly the only marks are those of the makers' mark and they are clearly struck three times. Surely this reputable firm were not trying to dodge duty! Scratch weight of 4 troy ounces and 17 pennyweights is still visible, plus there is a worn engraved crest. Price: SOLD Ref. No.: JY/9088 |
