Comments: An early escutcheon form label with
rare name. A clear example of the pre-1756 lion passant mark.
Mountain is a sweet dessert wine from the hills around
Malaga in Spain and was the predecessor of Sherry in the UK, being
replaced by the latter c.1790. This label formed part of the "Joyce Mountain
"Mountain" wine label Collection".
