Item: Snuff Box Description: Cowrie shell with feather-edge engraved silver mount Hallmark: Circa 1780 Dimensions: 81mm (w) x 55mm (d) x 42mm (h) Comments: A beautifully made snuff box, with superb bright-cut silver mounts. A particularly pleasing feature of this box is the hinged cover which is inset with a matching piece of cowrie shell, all is masterfully fitted together without any gaps and the box closes shut with a satisfying "clunk".
