Item: Snuff Box Hallmark: London 1814 by John Linnitt and William Atkinson Dimensions: 93mm (w) x 39mm (d) x 25mm (h); 126g Deep rounded oblong box; tavern scene with scroll surround in relief to cover, with engine-turned sides and base. Gilt throughout. Comments: A fine hefty box by a sought after London based partnership of box makers. The tavern scene (after pictures by the Flemish artist David Teniers the Younger) depicts men at a table playing cards with other patrons drinking in the background. Excellent condition and detail (can even make out the digits on the cards). Some minor loss of gilding to the high points of the scene. Price: SOLD Ref. No.: TP/4947 |
