Antique Silver Spoons

Item: Fish Slice Description: Admiralty Pattern Hallmark: London 1855 by John Samuel Hunt (Hunt & Roskell) Dimensions: 310 mm long; weight 190 grams

Comments: An extremely rare and highly desirable server in the Royal Naval issue (denoted by the arrow stamp adjacent to the hallmarks) Admiralty Pattern. The fouled anchor motif is die-stamped to the front terminal. The pattern was first produced circa 1838. The makers of this piece were a continuation of the company founded by Paul Storr - the crown above the makers mark indicates their Royal "by appointment" warrant. To the reverse side of the stem is an engraved crest of a knight's head with motto "VIRTUS ET HONOS" (Virtue and Honour). Superb quality and condition.
