Item: Sugar Nips Description:  "Polo mint" style hinge Hallmark: Inverness circa 1760 by Robert Anderson Dimensions: 126mm long; 37g weight

Comments: An extremely rare form of nips with maker's mark only struck to the inside of both grips.

 Provenance: The Albert Collection where they are attributed to this Scottish Provincial maker. These nips are also mentioned in the index of "Eighteenth Century Silver Tea Tongs" by Dr David Shlosberg where they are noted as being one of only two pairs of Scottish Provincial sugar nips to have been discovered.
