Comments: An extremely attractive oval teapot
complete with it's original stand. This is a fine example of one of the
most desirable forms of teapot and it maintains it's original, crisp
bright-cut engraved swag decoration.
The teapot has been superbly made and bears the signs of
high quality workmanship - the flush/secret hinge hidden within the
engraving, the floral finial and the well designed decoration.
Late 18th Century teapots of this form were generally
supplied with a complementing stand on four feet to prevent scorching to
the table - more often than not they have become separated in the
intervening years.
The bonus of the original stand, the beauty of the form
and decoration, the desirability of the makers and the fantastic condition
make this an exciting and highly prized combination.
