This fine example has a superbly made filigree panel to the centre of the bowl (unusually on this piece it is in perfect condition). Filigree became popular in Birmingham made spoons for a period of about fifteen years at the beginning of the 19th Century, following an influx of specialist Italian filigree craftsman.
