Item: Sweetmeat Fork Description: Engraved Trefid with 'ears' Hallmark: London circa 1690 by ID over P (heart-shaped punch) Dimensions: 105 mm length Comments: A beautiful dainty fork. It has an elaborate trefid terminal with vacant cartouches (no erasures) to both sides. The fork is in remarkably fine condition with crisp engraving and a clear maker's mark. Provenance: The How of Edinburgh Sale on October 30th 2007. How of Edinburgh were the leading experts in early spoons.
