Comments: An extremely rare Queen Anne period
2-pronged fork. This fork has legible (albeit worn) hallmarks and decent
length tines. It is a very heavy fork and has a strong dog nose terminal.
Provenance: The How of Edinburgh Sale on October
30th 2007.
How of Edinburgh were the leading experts in early spoons.
They were retailing from the early 1930's onwards and produced the
groundbreaking work "English & Scottish Silver Spoons and
Pre-Elizabethan Hallmarks" in the 1950's.
