Item: Caddy Spoon Description: Axe shaped handle with bright-cut engraving to handle and reverse of bowl Hallmark: London 1783 by George Smith Dimensions: 81mm length

Comments: An excellent example of a very rare and sought after form. This early caddy spoon is decorated to both front and back. The axe-shaped handle bears engraved initials to the centre, whilst the reverse side has an engraved shield (vacant) surmounted by a bow to the centre of the bowl and an engraved border around the entire edge of the spoon. A fine spoon.
