Item: Caddy spoon Description: Old English Bright-cut
Hallmark: Exeter
circa 1790 by Joseph Hicks Dimensions: 88mm long Comments: A
pretty and rare example of a late 18th Century Exeter made caddy spoon. As
is typical for provincial spoons of this period there is no town or date
mark, but the style of the spoon, presence of the duty mark, shape of the
lion passant and the working dates of the maker help to accurately pin
point the date of manufacture (give or take five years).
