Item: Caddy Spoon Description: 'Hook end' with fluted
bowl Hallmark: Sheffield 1786 by Henry Tudor & Thomas
Leader Dimensions: 82mm long
Comments: A very rare form of caddy spoon and
equally rare in bearing early Sheffield hallmarks (including the sought
after incuse duty mark used for only 18 months).
The handle of this spoon has a turned over terminal (akin
to Onslow Pattern) and the bowl has been beautifully shaped and fluted.
Original script initials are located to the reverse of the stem and the
hallmarks are in fine condition to the reverse of the bowl.
This is a rare form of spoon and we have not experienced
another 18th century example that compares.
