Item: Caddy Spoon Description: Thistle Hallmark: London
1948 by L G Durbin Dimensions: 70mm long; 39g weight Comments: A
superb caddy spoon made by Leslie Durbin (former apprentice to Omar
Ramsden). This large and heavy caddy spoon bears a finely modelled thistle
motif to the handle - representing Scotland. We have previously
encountered an identical spoon with shamrock motif and so presumably
Durbin made a series of these spoons to celebrate the countries of the
United Kingdom. The condition is excellent with clear hallmarks.
