Item: Caddy Spoon Description: Queen
Elizabeth II Silver Jubilee Commemorative Hallmark: London 1977
by Stuart Devlin Dimensions: 80mm length; 56 grams
Comments: A commission was given by The
Society of Caddy Spoon Collectors to the UK's leading silversmith of the
1970's, to design and make a caddy spoon that could be given to the Queen
in celebration of her Silver Jubilee. The spoon was made in a limited
edition of fifty three and was available exclusively to members of the
society. Each spoon had the recipients name engraved upon it. This is
number 30 and is in mint condition within it's original presentation case
(N.B. we also have no. 20 in stock for the wife of this recipient).
It is hefty in weight and has the words "SILVER JUBILEE 1977"
below the cast gilt crown.
This spoon is illustrated on the front cover and plate
VIII of "Caddy Spoons: An Illustrated Guide" by John Norie and
is discussed in the text on page 111.
