30-piece Victoria Pattern Canteen, London makers 1844-1891

We are offering for sale a superb thirty piece service of  Victoria Pattern flatware. The canteen is made up from top quality sets of six. The pieces within this canteen were all hand-wrought by premier London based specialist spoon and fork makers. They are of the highest quality that can be foundThe decoration of this scarce, but highly sought after pattern, is crisp throughout. This is a fine quality cutlery service.

Victoria Pattern

Victoria Pattern was first designed in the early 1840's and named in honour of the new Queen. It is a relatively scarce, but highly sought after pattern. It tends to have only been made in London, which means that all pieces that are found are hand-wrought and of the highest quality.

The Service

All thirty pieces are in fabulous condition and have a good solid feel in the hand. The service is composed from five sets of six by a variety of top makers. The twelve forks, six teaspoons and six table spoons are engraved with a crest and the dessert spoons are blank (neither engraving nor erasures).

The table spoons were originally intended for supping soup, but are equally useful as serving items. The teaspoons are a large size and could be easily employed for other purposes (such as eating sorbet or ice cream).

We have further Victoria Pattern pieces in stock (including serving items) that can be added to this service on request. Silver handled knives are available to order.
