Boxed 136-piece  King's Pattern Canteen, Sheffield 1973 by Cooper Brothers Ltd 

We are offering for sale a rare opportunity to purchase a top quality boxed service in King's Pattern with all the major pieces that you require contained within the box.. 

The canteen benefits from having no engravings and is in excellent original condition throughout. It would appear to have never previously been used.

King's Pattern

King's Pattern is the most well known and popular decorative patterns. It was based on an 18th century French design and became fashionable amongst the wealthy in the early years of the 19th Century. The design encompasses a shell to both sides of the handle terminal and reverse of the bowl, scrolls down the handle shaft with a honeysuckle motif to the centre.

The Service

All the pieces in this 12 place settings canteen are in excellent condition with double-struck decoration and a good solid feel in the hand. The pieces have the bonus of being free from engraved initials/crests. All 136 items within this service bear the hallmarks for Sheffield 1973 by Cooper Brothers Ltd..

The substantial range of pieces within this canteen mean that all courses can be easily catered for. It has everything you need to dine in style.

Components and Measurements

This 136-piece service consists of the following:

 
12 off soup spoons;  12 off dessert knives (stainless steel blades); 6 off table/serving spoons; 
12 off fish knives; 12 off dessert or starter forks; 2 off fish servers ;
12 off fish forks; 12 off dessert spoons;  2 off sauce ladles;
12 off table knives (stainless steel blades); 12 off teaspoons; soup ladle; 
12 off table/dinner forks;  12 off coffee spoons; 5 piece Carving Set (stainless steel blades)

The total weight of the silver is 6660grams (214 tr. oz.) . This weight does not include the 24 silver handled knives and the five piece carving set.

Condition

Excellent. All the fork tines are full length and the spoon bowls are unworn. The items are polished and the service appears to have barely been used.

Presentation

This canteen benefits from being presented within its' original wooden box. The box has a pull up top and two slide out drawers which are locked by closing the two hinged gate leg panels at the front. The original key is present. The pieces all have their own individual slot to prevent them from scuffing against each other.
