Item: Canteen (53-piece in fitted wooden case)
Description: Dubarry Pattern (8 place setting) Hallmark: Sheffield
1969-71 by G&H Weight: 1920 grams (62 troy ounces) or 2985 grams (96 troy ounces)
including table and dessert knives and carving set with their stainless
steel blades.
Pieces: 6 off soup spoons, table knives &
forks, dessert knives, forks & spoons, tea and coffee spoons. In
addition there are two serving spoons and a three piece carving set.
Comments: A beautifully presented canteen in
what is probably the most desirable pattern of the 20th Century. Dubarry
Pattern was originally designed for the White Star Shipping Line for use
on board The Titanic. It simples lines and form give something a little
less plain than Old English Pattern, but not as decorative as King's
Pattern.
This canteen has a solid feel throughout and is in
excellent condition with no engraved inscriptions. The presence of a carving set and soup spoons is a
bonus. Supplied in it's original lockable case with key.
