Antique Silver Spoons

Item: Canteen (60-piece) Description: Fiddle & Thread Pattern (12 place setting) Hallmark: London 1844-82 by George Adams Weight: 3895 grams (125 troy ounces)

Pieces: 12 off table & dessert forks, table, dessert and teaspoons.  We would suggest new silver handled knives to complement this service and would be happy to advise and supply the right ones for you. Matching servers available as optional extras.

Comments: A superb quality Victorian canteen presented in anti-tarnish cutlery rolls. Each piece has the mark of George Adams (of the prestigious Chawner & Co.) and lives up to the name in terms of quality i.e. good heavy pieces throughout. All items are in excellent condition with full length fork tines and unworn spoon bowls. Fiddle & Thread Pattern was considered an elite pattern and therefore this made-up canteen sports an interesting array of engraved crests and initials, whilst some pieces remain blank.

A brief biography of Chawner & Co. can be found by clicking here.
