Comments: A rare opportunity to buy a top quality Victorian canteen in
one of the most sought after patterns and by the premier maker of the
period. A brief biography of Chawner & Co. can be found by clicking
here. The presence of period knives by the same maker is as a major
bonus. These knives benefit from having replacement stainless steel
blades.
The double-struck (decoration on both sides) nature of
King's Pattern ensures a hefty gauge of silver throughout. It was
considered an elite pattern and therefore this made-up canteen sports an
interesting array of engraved crests and initials. This canteen
oozes quality.
