Antique Silver

Item:  Spoons (set of 4) Description: Dog-nose Hallmark: London 1705 by Lawrence Coles and Thomas Sadler Dimensions: 204mm long, 285g weight

Comments: A very heavy set of four Queen Anne period dog nose spoons with an average weight of 2.3 tr.oz. per spoon. The general condition of the spoons is excellent with very little wear to the bowls. The hallmarks are mostly hard to read, although the new standard maker's marks are clear on all three Cole spoons and the date letter is visible on the Thomas Sadler spoon. The engraved crests and initials were added later in the 18thC. A very good set and excellent value for money!
