Antique Silver

Item:  Spoon Description: Trefid with decorated rattail Hallmark: London 1682 by 'NC' Dimensions: 197mm long, 59g weight

Comments: A very rare London-made, Charles II period, trefid with crisp decorated rattail. It has a good set of hallmarks with clear date letter. The maker's mark is a distinctive conjoined script "NC" within a double circle (part rubbed).

The spoon has a hefty weight and good feel to it. There is a set of contemporary to manufacture, engraved betrothal initials to the reverse terminal.

This spoon was bought in partnership with a matching pair that is available separately at this link - MG/8827b
