1680 by B? within heart Dimensions: 100mm; 36 grams Comments: A very rare and charming set of six 17th C teaspoons. Single trefid teaspoons are difficult to find, so finding a straight set of six is quite a coup. Not only are they a straight set - but also in fine condition throughout with original bowl shapes intact and a good patina. Each spoon is marked with maker's mark only "B?" within a heart-shaped punch. The marks pre-date the introduction of the Britannia Standard in 1697 and stylistically date from the 1680's. They bear "EM" initials to the reverse terminal.
