Comments: A fantastic quality and highly desirable large silver wine or claret ewer in the Victorian Naturalistic manner. The chased decoration is superb with an abundance of flowers amongst foliage around a large vacant cartouche. A mask of Pan can be found to the top of the handle staring at the flower bud finial. This mask is also repeated at the base of the handle. The underside of the cover and the interior of the pitcher is richly gilt (gold-wash).
