and highly desirable large silver wine or claret ewer in the Victorian
Naturalistic manner. The chased decoration is superb with an abundance of
flowers amongst foliage around a large vacant cartouche. A mask of Pan can
be found to the top of the handle staring at the flower bud finial. This
mask is also repeated at the base of the handle. The underside of the
cover and the interior of the pitcher is richly gilt (gold-wash).
