Item: Large Bowl Description: Round with chased Gothic designs; gilt interior Hallmark: London 1851 by Hunt & Roskell Dimensions: 192mm diameter (top); 80mm high; 460g weight Comments: A superb quality large bowl that could be used for all manner of purposes - fruit, table centrepiece, etc. The sides are finely chased with a Gothic architectural style and the interior is gilded. Condition is excellent and the underside proudly boasts the company's connections to the firm run by Paul Storr (England's greatest 19th Century silversmith) and the crown above the maker's mark denotes the company's "by appointment" to Queen Victoria.
