Item: Basket Description: Wirework with
vine leaf decoration Hallmark: London 1761 by Arthur Annesley Dimensions: 6.9"
(174mm) long x 5.5" (140mm) wide x 1.75" (45mm) high; 140
grams ( tr. oz.) weight
Comments: This a truly stunning mid-18th
Century basket with a good solid feel . It's original intention would have
been for sweetmeat, however these days it can be used as a beautiful
multi-purpose dish. The wire work sides are enveloped with a trailing vine
tendril. It is quite simply a sumptuous piece of silver that is even
better in the hand than the photos suggest.
