The scene depicts an ancient boar hunting scene with a man with spear and dog chasing a wild boar. There is a dedication to celebrate a child's first birthday below a cipher and the date 29th November 1879. The mug is if the very highest quality with a good hefty weight, gilt interior and three superbly made acanthus capped ball feet. The decoration is extremely crisp throughout and the mug just oozes true quality.
