Antique Silver

Item: Pair of Gravy Boats (or large sauce boats) Description: 3 legged with gadroon mounts and flying scroll handle Hallmark: London 1756 by Samuel Herbert & Co. Dimensions: 130 mm high x 205 mm long; 350ml volume; 800 g weight

Comments: A superb quality pair of large Georgian sauce or gravy boats with a volume of 2/3 pint. These items have a really hefty weight of over 25 troy ounces and a further sign of their high quality are the original Coat-of-Arms that are engraved to the sides.

Many Georgian sauceboats suffer damage from frequent use, however the thick gauge of silver used in these pieces has prevented any serious damage and there are no repairs.
