Plain with three hoof feet Hallmark: Dublin
circa 1770 by Matthew West Dimensions: 192mm long x 96mm high;
1/2 pint volume; 195g weight
Comments: This is an excellent Irish gravy or
large sauceboat in a very elegant form. Most found from this period are in
a state of disrepair, but this example is in fine condition. Clear
hallmarks to the underside with adjacent contemporary to manufacture
engraved betrothal initials. Matthew West was one of the finest late 18th
Century Irish silversmiths.
