Comments: A good Victorian medical catheter within hallmarked sheath.

According to the 1852 Directory of the Borough of Sheffield, a William Skidmore of Fitzwilliam Street was a manufacturer of surgeon's instruments, enema pumps, syringes etc. The Sheffield Assay Office Registers have an entry for William Skidmore with his work address at Enema Works, Cemetary Rd & Pearl St. The two addresses are within a short walk of each other and they undoubtedly relate to the same person and the maker of this piece..
