Item: Salt Spoons (set of 6) Description: King's Husk
Pattern Hallmark: London
1850 by George Adams Dimensions: 111mm long; 177g weight Comments: An
extremely rare set of 6 silver salt spoons in one of the most highly
prized flatware patterns. The quality and condition are both outstanding.
The decoration is super crisp and the bowl interiors are gilt to protect
the silver from the corrosive effects of salt. Each spoon feels heavy and
sturdy in the hand.
To the reverse terminal is a gartered motto surmounted by
a crown. The motto reads "Tria Juncta in Uno" which translates
to "Three Joined in One" and is the motto of The Order of the
Bath. The garter is engraved over the badge of the Order. The Order of the
Bath is a British order of chivalry creating a knight of the realm. The
original owner of these salt spoons would have been so honoured.
