Antique Silver Spoons

John Norie Caddy Spoon Collection

John Norie, who past away last year, was the esteemed collector of caddy spoons. He was a founder member and honorary life president of the Society of Caddy Spoon Collectors  and author of the superb book "Caddy Spoons: An Illustrated Guide".

All of the caddy spoons listed below were bought from the John Norie Collection of Caddy Spoons sale at Woolley & Wallis Salerooms on 20th April 2004. See a review of the Norie Collection sale by clicking here. All the spoons therefore come with this excellent provenance and the majority on sale are the actual examples illustrated in "Caddy Spoons: An Illustrated Guide". It is truly a great opportunity to own the actual spoon photographed for the definitive book on the subject. We have taken special care to not clean any items and they are sold as found in the collection. You will even note the same tarnished areas on some items as seen in the book! Some of the lots still retain their reference labels referring to the relevant plate in the book.

Of the 32 items available we have a good cross-section of styles available with novelties (a hand, jockey caps, leaf), very attractive London made bright-cut examples, most members of the Bateman family (including two by Hester and one by the ultra rare PB/IB), early Sheffield and Irish.

Should you decide to purchase any, please contact us at rbeaultd@btopenworld.com quoting the reference number and how you wish to pay (cheques or on-line credit card payment via Paypal). Please also state where we will be sending the spoon(s). Insured postage costs within the UK will be £5 and internationally will be£6. We will hold the spoon on reserve for you until we receive payment.

Please click on any that may interest you for images and further information. If you have the Caddy Spoons book by Norie you can refer to the relevant plate shown in brackets. Or if you would prefer to view the list with thumbnail photos please click here

All items have now sold. We are happy to take commission orders for the second (and final part) of the sale to be held at the end of July. Alternatively, if you wished to be emailed as soon as any spoons become available following the sale please let me know.
