Item: Sauce Label Description: CAYENNE; Wavy rectangle Hallmark: London circa 1810 Dimensions: 31mm wide Comments: A rare form of rectangular sauce label with a raised Chippendale style wavy border. Unmarked but dating from circa 1810. A near identical Cayenne label is illustrated in "Sauce Labels" by John Salter in photo 37 (page 136) where it is described as "architectural" form.
