Item: Toddy Ladle Description: Oar Pattern
Hallmark: Montrose c.1810 by John Glenny Dimensions: 158mm long;
27 grams
Comments: A rare set of Scottish provincial
marks on a typically Scottish item of flatware - a toddy ladle. The marks
are in good condition and read IG, rose, IG, rose. The style
of the ladle also has a Scottish flavour in that it is Oar pattern (i.e.
fiddle pattern without the lower shoulders and an elongated terminal).
Montrose is a coastal town on the east coast of Scotland
approximately half way between Dundee and Aberdeen.
