Hallmark: Elgin c. 1820 by Thomas Stewart Dimensions: 235mm long;

Comments: This is a superb Scottish provincial
spoon with a hefty weight and a beautiful chamfered edge along the sides
of the stem with cut-in shoulders. Clear Elgin marks and a contemporary to
manufacture engraved "C" to the front terminal. It has a
wonderful patina and a thick tip to the bowl.
The Royal burgh of Elgin is Scotland's smallest city. It is
located some 5 miles inland from the Moray Firth in the county of Moray,
approximately half way between Inverness and Aberdeen.
