Item:  Teaspoon Description: Fiddle pattern Hallmark: Montrose circa 1860 by James Sturrock Dimensions: 139 mm long

Comments: A rare Scottish Provincial teaspoon in fiddle pattern with Scottish proportions. The marks are "JS", "mitre", "mitre" and the spoon is in good order. See "The Finial" Jan/Feb 2009 (pages 10-12) for a discussion and biography of this maker.

Montrose is a coastal town on the east coast of Scotland approximately half way between Dundee and Aberdeen.
