1870 by Tiffany & Co. Dimensions: 147mm long; 25g weight Comments: A very rare sardine fork with two engraved sardines (herring). Excellent condition with no engraved initials/erasures etc. Ionic Pattern was designed by John Polhamus, patented on November 13th 1860 and retailed by Tiffany & Co. This fork bears the correct marks for the period (GP PATENT 1860). Sardine forks were first introduced in the late 1860's and this server dates from around that date.
