Item: Hash Spoon Description: Hanoverian Pattern
with shell fancy back Hallmark: London 1761 by either Nicholas Hearnden
or Nathaniel Horwood Dimensions: 365mm long; 184g weight Comments: A
huge Georgian serving spoon in fantastic condition. The bowl is enormous
with a thick leading edge and the shell to the reverse is particularly
crisp. A contemporary to manufacture engraved betrothal triangle (surname
initial "M") is located to the reverse terminal. The hallmarks
are excellent. The assay office registers for the period are lost and
therefore the identity of the maker is uncertain, however the two names
mentioned above are the most likely candidates.
