Item: Basting Spoon Description:
Fiddle & Thread pattern Hallmark: London 1800 by William
Eley & William Fearn Dimensions: 311mm long; 154 grams weight
Comments: A very early large spoon for Fiddle
& Thread pattern (generally post 1810). This spoon is in superb
condition with a thick bowl tip and has a very hefty weight. The terminal
is engraved with a crown crest; this factor combined with the early date,
heavy weight and premier silversmithing partnership that made it, would
indicate an aristocratic background.
