Item: Fish Slice Description: Old
England Pattern Hallmark: London 1830 by Jonathan Hayne Dimensions: 290mm length;
151g weight
Comments: A rare and beautiful silver fish
slice in a very rarely found pattern that was probably designed to
celebrate the coronation of King William IV in 1830. The pattern display a
variety of British emblematic flora - rose, thistle, shamrock and acorns
amongst oak leaves. The decoration is crisp throughout and the fish slice
bears an engraved crest of the Greek mythical beast Hippocampus (horse
with a fish tail) to the front terminal.
