Antique Silver

Item:  Basting Spoon Description: Stag Hunt Pattern Hallmark: London 1855 by George Adams Dimensions: 282mm length; 162 g weight

Comments: A fantastic spoon in one of the most highly prized patterns (we believe that this is the first basting spoon we have ever come across in this pattern).  The handle has a total of eight stag hounds chasing their quarry. The reverse side portrays the usual hunting trophies and mask of the ancient Greek Goddess for hunting and wild animals, Artemis (or Diana in Roman mythology).

This long basting spoon (aka stuffing or gravy spoon) is in superb original condition with very crisp decoration and a thick lip to the bowl.
