Coffee Pot - Pear-shape with Gadroon Mounts - London 1770 by John King - 28cm high; 938g - LM/4667

This is a fine quality George III period silver coffee pot made by the premier silversmith John King.

The coffee pot has a lovely bellied, pear-shape form with gadroon mounts around the foot and hinged cover. The original handle is made of pearwood whilst the swan-neck spout and bud-finial are cast. One side of the body is engraved with a well-executed, script, block-letter "B". The full set of London hallmarks are located to the underside of the foot.

This coffee pot has an excellent feeling of high quality in the hand and remains in superb condition with a lovely original patina.
