This is a great example of a Victorian silver vesta case in the form of a padlock.
The cylindrical, barrel padlock has a textured striker to the flip top, hinged cover and a registration design kite mark for 1877 to the other end. The Birmingham hallmarks are located to the locking arm. This rare, novelty silver match safe is in fine condition.
