This 12" long silver basting spoon was made in York at the turn of the 19th century by the important makers Hampton, Prince & Company.
Fashioned in the Old English pattern, this good-sized serving spoon (aka gravy or stuffing spoon) is in superb condition with a good, thick bowl tip and the bonus of no engraved initials. It has a good set of York assay office hallmarks for 1800.
