Antique Silver

Item:  Vinaigrette Description: Shell with simulated filigree grille Hallmark: Birmingham 1804 by Matthew Linwood Dimensions: 26mm x 19 mm x 9 mm tall

Comments: A rare and early vinaigrette by Linwood with the flutes of the shell showing to the inside of both cover and base. The grille is also interesting in being a rare example of simulated filigree (i.e. cast to resemble filigree). Fine condition throughout with legible hallmarks to the lip of the base.
